Counsellor Ali Mohammed Abdullah Al Balushi, Acting Attorney-General of Abu Dhabi, has warned about the negative impact of the infiltration phenomenon on the societal security, as it curbs socio-economic development and health plans.

He stressed that the infiltration cases heard so far by the public prosecution departments across the Emirate of Abu Dhabi this year rose to 386 cases.

Al Balushi commended huge efforts exerted by the security authorities in the Emirate, adding that the latest equipment have been introduced to foil the infiltration attempts.

He called for taking sufficient procedures to eradicate the infiltration phenomenon and violators of the residency law, noting that the entry law for foreigners punishes those who facilitate the entry of infiltrators or harbouring them with at least two months in jail and fine of AED100, 000.

Al Balushi urged all citizens and residents as well to cooperate with the security authorities by reporting those who violate the residency law, adding that the eradication of such a phenomenon requires concerted cooperation among components of community.

Earlier the Abu Dhabi Public Prosecution had ordered the arrest of 9 people of different nationalities on charges of facilitating the entry of infiltrators into the country.
