Abu Dhabi Air Expo begins at Al Bateen Airport

The Abu Dhabi Air Expo, the region's first general aviation exhibition to be held at Al Bateen Executive Airport, on Tuesday was inaugurated by Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Advisor and Deputy Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council.

The event is organized by Abu Dhabi Airports Company (Adac) at its dedicated business aviation airport from 6th to 8th March, 2012.

Sheikh Hazza toured the venue of the event which includes nearly 70,000 square meters of exhibition space, showcasing over 70 aircraft and bringing together nearly 100 distributors offering the latest in general aviation technology and innovation products and services.

The show will be a platform for the major players in this developing sector to gather and share their latest innovations with a continuously growing audience. Key exhibitors at show include Etihad Airways, Royal Jet, Mubadala Aerospace, UAE Armed Forces and Rotana Jet.

Khalifa Al Mazrouei, Chairman, Abu Dhabi Airports Company, who welcomed Sheikh Hazza, said the exhibition reflects the significant growth of air traffic at Al Bateen Executive Airport and the economic boom of the emirate of Abu Dhabi. It is brining together more than 600 industry leaders." Bringing together the major players in general aviation, Abu Dhabi Air Expo will enable a demanding clientele to discover a wide and representative range of the industry's latest developments and innovations in a remarkable and convenient location.

Sheikh Hazza was accompanied by Chairman of The Tourism Development '&' Investment Company (TDIC) and member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council Sheikh Sultan Bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Director General of the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, ministers, senior officials.
