A runaway bull knocked down a Bengali worker while he was walking in a public place in Al Rahba area in Abu Dhabi, causing him moderate injuries.

According to the Abu Dhabi Police, the operations room received notification on Sunday morning about a snorting, frenzied bull running amok and charging down the streets in front of a hospital in Al Rahba, where it had trampled and knocked over a pedestrian.

The police and rescue teams rushed to the scene and a competent animal control company was notified to capture and restrain the animal.

An ambulance patrol team rescued the injured Bengali man and rushed him to the hospital.

Police patrols cordoned off the area where the raging bull was lurching and evacuated pedestrians and vehicles, pending the arrival of the specialised handlers.

Handlers from animal control chased the bull and managed to sedate it after a 'fierce fight' stated authorities.

The operations room indicated that the Abu Dhabi Police began investigating the circumstances of the incident, and is currently looking for the bull’s owner to determine where it had escaped from.
