Abu Dhabi electrical complex fire doused

Emergency and public safety teams of the Abu Dhabi Police put out a fire which broke out today in a power station at Al Muroor road, reported Wam.

Major Khalid Hassan Al Shihi, head of the Rescue and Rapid Response at the police, said the fire was doused in less than an hour.

"Preliminary investigations showed that the fire broke out due to electrical short circuit. Our teams managed to control the fire before it could spread to other sections," he added.

The incident did not result in any casualties.

Major Shehhi, head of the rescue and rapid intervention department, said the police operations room was informed of the fire on Tuesday evening and the fire was brought under control in less than an hour.

Al Shehhi said initial inspection indicate the fire was the result of a short circuit in the electrical complex.
