Abu Dhabi in major 'tidiness' crackdown
Abu Dhabi authorities fined 390 shops and warned 292 others in several areas outside the city in a 20-day campaign intended to ensure compliance with hygienic and cleanliness rules in the emirate.
The raids, conducted jointly by the municipality and Abu Dhabi Police, covered the sprawling industrial city of Musaffah and the nearby Mohammed bin Zayed city and Bani Yas, municipal officials said on Tuesday.
The campaign targeted groceries, workshops, garages and other small establishments violating the rules by dumping garbage randomly, washing cars in the street, parking on the pavement and using work places as living quarters.
