Abu Dhabi police launches Traffic Happiness Patrol

Ohood bint Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Happiness, and Major-General Mohammed Khalfan Matar Al Rumaithi, Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police, yesterday inaugurated the Traffic Happiness Patrol, the first initiative of its kind in the UAE.

The launch of the patrol coincides with the Abu Dhabi Government’s golden anniversary celebrations.

Major-General Al Rumaithi briefed the Minister of State on the equipment and smart systems supplied to the happiness patrol and means to support their work in spreading the culture of happiness and positivity among road users.

Al Rumaithi, accompanied by Al Roumi and Brigadier Ali Khalfan Al Dhaheri, Director-General of Central Operations at Abu Dhabi Police, toured with the new patrol on its launch, which comes within the realm of police initiatives to promote positive values and stimulate road users to abide by the law of traffic.

Ohood Al Roumi expressed her pride at this pioneering project launched by Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, which coincides with the national charter of happiness and positivity.

The launch event was attended by officials from Abu Dhabi Police, including Major-General Maktoum Al Sharifi, Acting Director-General, Major General Omair Muhammad Al Muhairi, Director-General of Police Operations, Brigadier Sheikh Mohammed bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Director General of Security and Ports Affairs, Brigadier Ali Khalfan Al Dhaheri,  Director of Central Operations, Brigadier Saeed Saif Al Nuaimi, Deputy Director-General of Finance and Services, Brigadier Obeid Salem Al Ketbi, Director-General of Human Resources, and a number of senior Abu Dhabi Police personnel.
