Four men allegedly offered a dud cheque of Dh150,000 to a German air hostess and 'bought' her BMW car using forged documents.

On March 31, MFA, a 34-year-old, Egyptian supervisor, approached Laila Mirska, 27, and told her that he has been sent by someone called Haitham to buy her car. He handed her a cheque of Dh150,000 drawn on City Bank, the Dubai Criminal Court heard on Tuesday.

She, thereafter, transferred the ownership of the vehicle to Accord Electronics on MFA's request.

However, the victim soon realised she was conned when the cheque bounced. On contacting MFA, he initially promised to pay her in cash and later was unreachable as he had switched off his mobile phone.

MM, a salesman at Accord Electronics, confessed the purchase document was forged.

The case is adjourned until December 14 to hear the defence.
