Airfare discount offers: Kochi return for Dh665

Major Gulf carriers have rolled out their take-off fares, with prices of air tickets now available with discounts of up to 30 per cent across certain carriers.

Emirates, Flydubai, Air Arabia and Qatar Airways have all slashed airfares across their respective networks for a limited time with prices starting at Dh665 return for Kochi, while another is offering US return flights from Dh4,190 to New York.

The Dubai-based Emirates has launched special Thanksgiving airfares for flights to the US, which need to be booked by November 9 for travel between November 12 and March 31, 2015 on Business and Economy classes.

Fares start at Dh4,190 return to New York, while Washington DC is Dh4,490, and Boston and Chicago are Dh4,990.

Blackout dates do apply, with discounts not valid on outbound travel from December 15-25.

Carrier Flydubai is offering up to 30 per cent off flights on, both economy and business classes, to select destinations on bookings before noon on November 6.

Of the destinations on offer with the airline, popular routes such as Kochi return is Dh665, Karachi is Dh633, Doha is Dh428, Amman is Dh692, while Colombo is Dh867.

This offer is valid on the lowest return fares for travel between November 12 and December 10. These special fares are subject to availability.

The Doha-based Qatar Airways has also announced its global sale across 130 destinations with discounts of up to 25 per cent on airfares, on both business and economy classes.

The sale, which runs until November 10, is valid for travel from Thursday until June 15 and offers flights from both airports in Dubai, along with flights originating from Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.

Fares on offer include prices such as Dh1,785 on a return fare to Kuala Lumpur from the capital, Manila for Dh1,845 from Al Maktoum International, Barcelona for Dh,2485 from Dubai International and Bangkok for Dh1,745 from Sharjah.

Exceptions do apply to avail the discounted fares with the carrier, with blackout dates being December 17-23; January 2-11, 2015; March 26-April 2 and April 6-13.

Additional blackout applies to travel originating from Australia on December 5-16 (outbound) and January 12-25 (inbound).

These discounted fares are not available on all flights to Jeddah and Madinah.

Meanwhile, Sharjah-based Air Arabia had also launched its web exclusive offer for all-inclusive return fares starting at Dh549 (to Bahrain), which had to be booked by November 4 for travel until December 10. Of the 13 destinations selected for the discounted airfare, cities such as Beirut, Amman, Alexandria, Istanbul and Salalah were on offer for Dh899, while Nairobi and Khartoum for Dh1,199.
