Ajman’s authorities have told landlords to install security cameras at all their buildings in the emirate as part of plans for “Ajman…house of safety.”

All buildings in residential areas and city centre must have cameras in line with a new decision by the emirate’s executive council.

“The decision was issued according to a decree by His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman,” Ajman’s police chief Brigadier Sheikh Sultan bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi said.

He said the cameras would be connected to police stations to ensure security and safety for all buildings.

“We aim to cut crime in the emirate…the average closed crime in the UAE is 92 in 100,000 crimes…our target is to cut that average to 80,” he said.
