Ajman court acquits hubby-spying wife

A court in Ajman scrapped a previous sentence to fine a wife Dh150,000 and deport her from the UAE on charges of stealing data from her husband’s mobile phone.

The court acquitted the wife after her husband dropped all charges against her to “preserve the family” and their four-year-old son, 'Al Ittihad' daily said.

A court of first instance had found the wife guilty of stealing pictures and data from her husband’s mobile phone on the grounds she suspects he has a relationship with another woman. The court issued its sentence in line with the UAE’s IT law.

“The wife was acquitted of all charges after her husband dropped the case to preserve his family as the couple has a four-year-old son,” the paper said.
