Ajman illegal car-lift fine Dh5,000

Ajman Public Transport will fine drivers using their private cars as taxis Dh5,000, ‘Al Bayan’ reports.

This is an increase from the earlier fine of Dh1,000.

Omar Mohammed Lootah, Financial and Administrative Director of Ajman Public Transport, said that the fine will multiply to become Dh10,000 if the illegal car lifts in Ajman do not reduce.

He explained that the department acted on 554 taxi offences in 2015.

He added that 13 inspectors have been assigned to monitor such offences, in addition to inspectors monitoring parking areas, particularly at malls.
