Al Ain food inspection: 2 hotels get notices

Two hotels in Al Ain were given notices while five others were given warnings following the weekend inspection by the Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA).

The weekend inspections, organised jointly by the Hotels & Events Control and Educational Institution & Hospitals Control units of ADFCA, covered 80 per cent of the hotels in Al Ain.

The inspections were carried out to ensure that hotels follow approved practices in the handling of food as well as ADFCA’s food safety requirements are met.

“The summer and Ramadan see huge turnout of visitors to our cities and this necessitates extra vigil in terms of food safety,” said Mohammed Jalal Al Rayssi, Director, Communication & Community Service Division of ADFCA.

He urged the public to remain vigilant and report any risk to health.
