Al Futtaim to hire 1,000 over three years

Published

Al Futtaim, a participant at Careers UAE 2014, is looking to hire more than 1,000 UAE nationals over three years.

The company’s annual presence at the exhibition since 9 years reiterates Al Futtaim’s support of the UAE’s drive to further integrate Emiratis into the private sector, and serves as the ideal platform to attract graduates and provide them with an opportunity to join one of the UAE’s most successful and prominent businesses.

Al Futtaim continues to demonstrate its commitment towards the UAE Government’s Emiratisation initiatives, by providing employment opportunities to the UAE’s youth within its wide-ranging and diverse business operations, including automotive, services, retail, real estate development and electronics. Throughout Careers UAE 2014, company representatives will welcome Emirati candidates who aspire to become part of a dynamic corporation that is rapidly expanding locally, regionally and throughout the globe.

“Already a lot of Emiratis work for the group in various sectors and our aim is to welcome another 1,000 UAE Nationals at all levels in the next three years. Through the Intilaq graduate management training programme, one of our many successful HR initiatives, we hire graduates and provide them an exceptional opportunity to spend 18 months working across the group’s various divisions.

“We also assist school-leavers and diploma students by encouraging them to join our various 6 months traineeships in Retail, Administration and Insurance Sales which provides them with on and off the job training for 6 months.  This enables them to gain valuable commercial experience which potentially leads to long term and rewarding careers with Al Futtaim,” said Zuhair Al Haj, Director of Human Resources and Localisation in the MENA region, Al-Futtaim.

The company nurtures National talent through its Corporate Social Responsibility programme which aims to support the future development and growth of the UAE. Mehmal Al Marifa, (Knowledge Vessel) Al Futtaim’s highly successful Nationalisation programme, has been acknowledged as a private sector benchmark.

“The Mehmal Al Marifa initiative developed new opportunities for female Emiratis to contribute to society by working from the comfort of their own homes. This demonstrates that Al-Futtaim remains one of the strongest advocates of the UAE’s Emiratisation programme. We will remain committed to championing this key government initiative for many years to come,” Al Haj concluded.
