Appeal court scraps acquittal of “vice” parents

An appeal court in Abu Dhabi sentenced a man and his wife for six months in prison and ordered their deportation for encouraging their daughter to practice prostitution, a newspaper said on Wednesday.

The court abolished an earlier verdict by another court which acquitted the parents and another Gulf man who tried to rape the girl with her parents’ consent, Alabyan Arabic language daily said.

The appeal court found the Arab parents guilty in encouraging their daughter to practice prostitution and the mother in indulging in adultery and facilitating adultery for her husband.

It also sentenced the Gulf citizen for six months in jail, the paper said without identifying the defendants.
