Arab loses leg at Dhaid construction site

An Arab engineer lost his leg after it was caught by a massive wood cutting machine at a construction site in the central Sharjah town of Dhaid, newspapers said on Thursday.

The unnamed engineer was supervising work at the project site when the accident happened, prompting Sharjah police to send a helicopter to transport him to hospital.

The papers said the man’s leg was cut off at the site but did not give details of the accident.
