Arab Social Media Influencers Summit awards open for participation

The Organising Committee of the Arab Social Media Influencers Summit has announced that the second session of the Award of the Arab Social Influencers will be open for participation from August 29, 2016.

The award, which highlights the most compelling social media-driven initiatives by Arabs, has set October 1 as the deadline for receiving the applications.

Those interested in competing for the award may initiate their works via the website www.arabsmis.ae.

The award was launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai.

The award aims to honour innovation by both individuals and institutions that have made a positive impact on the development and prosperity of their communities.

The Award includes 20 categories each for individual and institutional innovators across social media channels who have helped establish a positive environment for creativity.

Mona Ghanem Al Marri, head of the Organising Committee of the Arab Social Media Influencers Summit, said that that the Award reflects the vision of his Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to dedicate a new creative approach to employ youth creativity on social media that serve Arabic communities.

She pointed out that the Award includes 20 categories covering the government and the private sector, blogging, media, sports, tolerance and positivity.

She added also the categories include community service, education, youth, technology, entrepreneurship, environment, economy, in addition to politics, health, arts, security, safety, shopping, tourism and entertainment.
