Asian expat slashes vein… to get leave from office

An Asian employee in the eastern emirate of Fujairah slashed his vein - not to commit a suicide - but to get a leave from his work.

Instead of getting the leave, he got a fine.

The unnamed man was rushed to hospital last week with a slashed vein in his right hand and doctors managed to save his life and restore his vein.

A court in Fujairah decided to fine the man Dh200 after he told police that he had done so in a bid to get a leave from his workplace.
