The Tourism Police Section of Abu Dhabi Police has urged all beachgoers, especially tourists, to carry their identification cards.

Colonel Dr Rashid Mohammad Borshid, Head, Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Abu Dhabi Police, explained that identification cards ought to be carried at all times in order to help police maintain security and stability.

Identity proof should be presented to security officers upon request, he added.

Relaxing at the beach is no excuse for not carrying identity proof, he said and added that such proof will help Tourism Police officials deliver their services better.

Meanwhile, Lieutenant Colonel Muzeed Al Otaibi, Chief, Tourism Police Section, highlighted the main tasks undertaken by the section, which is affiliated with the CID. He said the section aims to enhance tourism security in Abu Dhabi.

He noted that the Tourism Police Section is circulating behavioural guides in different languages, highlighting UAE laws and regulations that tourists must observe, such as the need to carry  identification cards, and respect local customs and traditions.

He also called upon the public to put forth their suggestions to help enhance tourism.
