Body found in Sharjah Creek identified

A body of a young man that was found floating in Sharjah Creek two days ago has been identified as belonging to an Indian crew of cargo vessel.

Sharjah Police sources identified the man as a 33-year-old Indian, who used to work for at a dhow that shuttles between the UAE and Iran.

“The deceased was sleeping on the top portion of a dhow and accidentally fell down. While falling, his head hit against some wooden parts, causing serious injury. He fell into the sea and died,” said reports from Sharjah Police Department.

Sharjah Police confirmed that the death happened due to an accident. The name or other details of the dead man is not revealed.

Recently, an Emirati man’s body was found floating around in Sharjah's Al Heera Corniche. Shocked residents alerted the Anjad police, and the Coast Guard. According to reports, the man was an Emirati in his thirties, and a BMW car parked along the beach, belonged to him. A Filippino man earlier died after his car hit a metal divider and plunged into the water in Khalid Port.
