Breakfast customers in Dubai go hungry, after new café runs out of eggs

A new café at Wasl Square in Dubai, that claims to dish out some of the finest, organically prepared treats, left customers hungry, after taking their breakfast orders.

A group of Dubai residents who visited the café in question on Saturday morning were in for a shocker, when their breakfast order never reached their table, despite being made to wait for three hours.

“Like any new business, even we are facing some start-up problems. This will be sorted out,” the supervisor told this website. “We didn’t expect such a big crowd in this area.”

He, however, appeared confident that the issues will be resolved soon, and a new team will be hired.

“We, my husband and I, were the first to reach, and it took the staff 20 minutes to give us the menu card,” recalled one of the customers.

“Although our order was muddled, with some dishes not making it to the table, we were served 20 minutes later.”

Her friends, two couples and their kids, who arrived an hour later weren’t that lucky.

“They ordered for eggs, and kids’ meals. One kids’ meal arrived, while the other didn’t,” she added.

An hour into the wait, the group was informed that they won’t be served as the café ran out of eggs.

The group was also told to revise their orders.

An hour after that, their meal never arrived on the table.

“We were then told that the café was going to shut down for the day, and they would not be able to serve us,” another customer added.

“And, just as we were told this, two of us were served. It was total mayhem.”

When one of them approached the manager, he was told to direct his issues to a supervisor.

They were later informed that the management was undergoing some issues and that their meal, or what did finally make it to their table, would be on the house.

While the group didn’t have to pay, they had to go to another nearby café to eat.

Just a week into its opening, the management claimed it was still facing teething issues.

The café remained closed for lunch the same day, following “maintenance troubles”.

“It had nothing to do with staff or service-related issues,” added the supervisor.
