Published

Traffic logjams and slow moving traffic welcomed Dubai commuters this Sunday morning, with lines snaking back for kilometres in several pockets of the city.
Port Rashid junction appeared to be one of the worst hit, with tailbacks spilling even beyond the Mankhool junction, to stretch towards the Sana traffic junction that connects to Sheikh Zayed and Rashid Roads.

No cause has been reported at the time, but routes, such as the 2nd December Street was witnessing a higher incidence of traffic as commuters looked for alternatives to connect on to Al Wasl and Jumeirah Beach Road.

However, the Union Coop signal on Al Wasl also witnessed tailbacks that passed beyond Al Safa Park to reach the Emirates NBD junction.
No traffic accidents were reported at the time so far.

Other sticky areas reported this morning have been the Discovery Gardens exit, along with Mohammed bin Zayed Road and the Airport Tunnel.
