Car on fire in Sharjah…

A car caught fire on Etihad Road in Sharjah going towards Dubai on Friday evening.

Sharjah Civil Defence team were immediately at the scene taking the situation under control.

However, heavy traffic had built up for some time due to the accident.

Dubai Police had tweeted alerting motorists to take alternative routes. “Traffic #congestion on Etihad Rd. due to a vehicle fire accident, in AlNahda Tunnel entrance towards #Dubai, use alternative routes.”

Later in the evening, another tweet by Dubai Police read: #Accident on SMBZ Road near 1st Intersection towards Abu Dhabi resulted in a heavy #congestion. Please drive carefully.”
