Ceiling falls and kills Asian asleep in RAK

An Asian man died after the ceiling of his room collapsed on him while asleep at his home in Ras Al Khaimah, a newspaper reported on Tuesday.

The unnamed man, 36, had just replaced his water tank on top of his room with a much bigger one before going to bed later in the day.

“The roof clearly could not stand the weight of the bigger tank.

“The man was killed instantly after the ceiling fell right on him while in bed,” the Arabic language daily Al Khaleej said, quoting police sources.

 

Summer uniform exposes fake cop in Kuwait
 

A Syrian man who posed as a cop and set up a check point to stop cars in the middle of the road in Kuwait had apparently not thought that it was winter when he donned the summer police uniform.

An hour later he was arrested because of that mistake.

Although most taxi drivers stopped by the fake cop had not noticed such a mistake, a Kuwaiti who happened to drive in that area instantly suspected the cop by his uniform.

“The Kuwaiti driver phoned the police headquarters, which sent detectives to the checkpoint.

“When they asked him about his name, he told them it is printed on the uniform,” the Kuwaiti daily Al Watan said.

“As they started to enquire about him through the wireless, the man fled but they chased him and arrested him.

“Police said he refused to say why he did this.”’
