Al Ain Municipality is all set to open a cemetery in Al Foa'a district by this year-end for non-Muslims, reported 'Al Khaleej' newspaper.
Built at a cost of Dh16 million, it includes comprehensive facilities that will cater to the needs of all non-Muslim communities. Spread over 40,000 square metre, the graveyard will include a church, waiting rooms and chambers.
The cemetery is an example of religious tolerance, said Jasem Al Qasimi, Head, Funeral Services Management, Al Ain Municipality.
Arrangements for burial rites of all religions will be catered to at the site according to the best international standards.
A dedicated website will also be created to inform public about the facilities available at the cemetery.
