Child drowns in Mirdif villa swimming pool
A two-year-old Arab child drowned in a villa swimming pool in Mirdif, ‘Al Khaleej’ newspaper has reported.
Major-General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Assistant Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police for Criminal Investigation, said police rushed to the scene after receiving a call that a child had been found drowned inside the pool.
He pointed out that preliminary information indicated that the child went into the pool without anyone noticing.
He added that burial of the child was cleared as the police did not suspect any criminal intent.
Major-General Mansouri appealed to parents to monitor their children particularly when they enter pool areas, and not to leave them alone.
He stressed that swimming pools should be surrounded by fences so as not to allow children through.
