The Commission tasked with the implementation of the directives of the President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan on the naturalisation of children born to Emirati mothers, has submitted a list of children eligible for UAE citizenship when they attain the age of 18.

The list containing 930 names will pave way for issuing orders for their naturalisation as per the rules and regulations prevailing in the country.

The Commision had ratified the list submitted earlier by the Ministry of Interior at a meeting held at the Presidential Palace. The meeting chaired by the Deputy Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of the Commission Ahmed Juma Al Zaabi was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Presidential Affairs, the Supreme Council for National Security , National Security Authority and the Ministry of Interior.

The Commision had assigned the Interior Ministry to prepare the list of various segments and submit the final list of eligible persons. The list is presented to the Ministry of Presidential Affairs, which will submit its recommendations to HH the President for issuing decrees for naturalisation.

Earlier in February, Sheikh Khalifa had issued federal decrees granting citizenship to 1117 eligible children born to Emirati mothers as per the Presidential Ordinance in this regard.
