Cop gets 2 years for groping air hostess

A policeman was sentenced by the Dubai Criminal Court of First Instance to 2 years in jail for kidnapping a woman by falsely accusing her of possessing drugs in order to sexually abuse her.
 
According to the records, on September 10, at around 10pm, VD, 30, Italian air hostess, took a taxi with her Romanian friend after spending their evening at a hotel.
 
 The taxi took her to a building at Al Hudaiba area. As the taxi stopped, a man approached the driver and told him that he was blocking the road.
 
“I got off the taxi and while my friend stayed in the taxi to go back home. As the taxi drove away, the man asked me to stop. He presented his military ID and asked me to present mine. 

"After presenting my ID he asked me to go with him to his car to check on me. As we reached his car, he asked me to get into his Mercedes but I refused. However, as he insisted that he is a policeman, I got into his car.

"He drove and started asking me about my job and how long I have been in the country and where I have studied. After driving for about 10 minutes I asked him to drive me back as my sister was waiting for me.

"All of a sudden he drove into an unlit street and stopped.
 
Then he shocked me by asking me an extremely personal question,” she said.
 
The woman refused to answer the policeman, so he raged at her in anger and started accusing her of possessing drugs and consuming alcohol.
 
“I replied that I do not possess drugs, but he insisted on searching me. I told him that he cannot do that and that only a woman can do that. He screamed at me that I had drugs one me.

"He demanded that I let him search me or he would inform the cops that I had kissed my friend in the taxi.
 
"I told him that I respect the law and did not break it and plead to him to turn me back home. He drove me back to my building and as we reached he asked me to lift up my hands. He inserted his hand from underneath the shirt and then groped me,” she said.
 
Police arrested SN, 28, who admitted asking the woman to ride his car which proved to be a rented car. However, he denied groping her.
 
SN claimed that he asked her to ride the car with him to call her friend and ask him to drive back.
 
He claimed that he wanted to issue a ticket to the driver who stopped his car in a way that blocked the traffic.
 
SN is accused of kidnapping a woman after using his official ID. He is also accused of threatening the woman to force her into allowing him to search her in addition to sexual assault and rape attempt charges.
 
The accused denied all charges when he appeared before the court.
