Court upholds 10 years for cocaine smuggler

The Dubai Court of Appeal upheld a ten-year jail sentence and a Dh50,000 fine, followed by deportation, awarded by the First Instance Court to a Briton convicted for smuggling and possessing cocaine.

A policeman suspected PK, 38, a transit passenger and after searching him found 1,875gms of cocaine.

PK had arrived from Sao Paulo.

When asked by security for a physical check, the passenger refused.

Police found 92 capsules wrapped with nylon and hidden in his underwear.
