Death sentence for killing ex-wife

An appeal court in Fujeirah has overturned a life verdict against an Emirati convicted of murdering his ex-wife and sentenced him to death, the semi official Alittihad newspaper reported on Tuesday.

The unnamed 34-year-old defendant was arrested by police in Fujeirah after attacking his ex-wife’s home and stabbing her to death several times.

A court in the emirate had earlier sentenced the killer to life in prison and ordered him to pay diya (blood money.
