Destinations that Filipinos, Indians can visit visa-free

According to the latest global index of an international residence and citizenship planning company, visa-free access is improving around the world as more countries allow foreign nationals to visit their shores without the need of a visa.

The Henley & Partners Visa Restrictions Index 2016 reveals that the citizens of Philippines can now travel to 61 countries (out of 219) without applying for a visa.

Citizens of India, on the other hand, can travel to 52 countries without applying for a visa.

Philippines is ranked 76th and India is ranked 85th in the 2016 Henley & Partners Visa Restrictions Index, which ranks countries according to the travel freedom that their citizens enjoy.

Citizens of countries such as the United Kingdom, Finland, France, Italy and Spain can visit 175 countries without requiring any visa, and are all ranked No. 3 in the world in terms of passport power.

Germans hold the most powerful passport in the world in terms of visa-free access to foreign countries, with 177 countries allowing Germany passport-holders to walk through the immigration gates without a visa. The Swedes follow at No. 2, with visa-free access to 176 countries.

Among major UAE expats countries, Chinese nationals can visit 50 countries visa-free (ranked 87 globally), Egyptians can travel to 49 countries without first applying for a visa (ranked 88 globally) while Pakistan nationals can travel to 29 countries visa-free (ranked 103 globally).

The index is produced in cooperation with the International Air Transport Association (Iata), which maintains the world’s largest database of travel information, and is published annually.
