The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) recently participated in a Marhaban Madrasti (Welcome to my school) activity organised by the Dubai Educational Zone under the theme ‘I pledge to my emirate.’

The activity was held for a week to raise awareness among students and faculty members about the sensible and responsible use of energy.

DEWA’s Conservation Team organised a number of activities and workshops to create an interactive and happy environment.

Gifts were distributed to students to raise awareness and motivate them through their academics, while highlighting the importance of protecting and conserving natural resources.

"We are pleased to co-operate with schools in the Dubai Educational Zone, to support efforts to raise a generation capable of understanding the importance of our natural resources. This adheres to the directives of Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to achieve sustainable and comprehensive development of the Emirate, and the Dubai Plan 2021, to transform Dubai into a smart, integrated, and connected city that uses its resources sustainably, and is capable of providing clean, healthy and sustainable environmental elements," said Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA.

This event supports DEWA’s ongoing awareness campaigns aimed at achieving its developmental objectives, and strategic plans to enhance environmental sustainability in Dubai. It also supports the efforts of educational institutions, to reduce consumption, while raising future generations.
