Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) has announced the launch of a new nursery at its Warsan branch.

The project aims to meet the overwhelming demand of employees who desire to enroll their children in Dewa ‘nurseries. The new nursery can accommodate 40 children and is 446.5 square metres in size.

“We are committed to providing a positive work environment to help our staff to achieving the proper balance in their professional and personal lives, improving their performance, and enabling them to work without affecting their family life. This significantly increases employee satisfaction, while providing social care for children in the workplace,” said Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of Dewa.

“The new nursery aims to provide care for the children of our employees who work at Warsan branch. The nursery is being established to nurture children according to the highest international standards. Qualified personnel will be appointed to run and supervise the nursery. Such initiatives provide stability and a positive work environment for our employees, raising their job satisfaction, and encouraging them to excel,” said Dr. Yousef Al Akraf, Executive Vice President of Business Support and Human Resources at Dewa.

Dewa inaugurated its first nursery at its headquarters in 2010 in line with international standards in terms of fittings and teaching methods.

Dewa headquarters’ nursery spans 332 sqm and can accommodate 32 children; while the Sustainable Building nursery is 445 sqm in size and accommodates 48 children. Together, the Dewa nurseries can accommodate a total of 120 children, at any given time.
