Dh600 or Dh3,000: How much will you pay to drive a Ferrari?

Every true-blue motorhead dreams of spinning off in a swanky Ferrari or Lamborghinni. And, with these super cars being a regular feature on the Dubai roads, the wish to get behind those spectacular wheels is just a tad more pressing.

While not everyone has the luxury or the bank balance to indulge such expensive weaknesses, there’s  still hope for the lesser mortals.

Car rental companies in the UAE are catering exclusively to this desire, allowing car fanatics to experience their dream drive, without creating a dent in their wallets.

Most rental companies offer daily rents for Ferrari from Dh3,000 onwards.

There’s the twin-turbocharged 3.8-litre V8 engine two-seater Ferrari California that’s up for grabs for Dh3,000 or Dh3,500.

Buying one costs a whooping Dh770,000 or more.

The daily rentals come with full insurance, free Salik, and free delivery and pick-up.

The driver must be aged 25 years or older and have a valid UAE/international driving license. They must also block Dh5,000 or Dh6,000 (depending on company requirements) on their credit card as a security deposit.

“These will be released after 15-25 days (depending on each company policy),” said a car rental representative.

But, if that’s still above your budget, you could still get your hands on the Ferrari California for Dh600 at Abu Dhabi’s Ferrari World. “That’s the cost for a 17-20 minute drive,” confirmed their rep.

The Ferrari 458 Italia can be yours for a day from anywhere between Dh4,000 to Dh6,000. With a market value of Dh910,000 or more, that’s a steal.

According to motoring experts, the “mid-mounted 4.5-litre V8 engine, mated only to a 7-speed dual-clutch automated manual gearbox shifts in 0.05 seconds”.

The sleek 4.5 litre Ferrari 458 spider comes for a daily rent of Dh4,000. With a purchaser’s starting price of Dh1000000 that’s a killer deal.

Italian supercar maker's latest flagship model the fancy Lamborghini Aventador is priced Dh1500000 and above for complete ownership, but for daily rentals the costs range between Dh6,000 and Dh6,500 for  a day’s rental.

The Lamborghini Gallardo ranges between Dh4,000 and Dh5000 for daily rental, while the actual price tag starts from Dh650,000.

There’s also the Porsche Panamera for Dh3,000, or the Aston Martin Rapide and Maserati GranCabrio for Dh2,250. The Chevy Corvette C7 is up for Dh2,000.

“Our clients are mostly UAE nationals, and we also have a large number coming from Saudi Arabia and Britain,” added a staffer at a luxury car rental company.

“Among the sports cars, it’s Ferrari and Lamborghini that’s hugely popular.”
