Dubai Health Authority is revamping its health applications ahead of Ramadan, enabling those who are fasting during the holy month to adjust their medical requirements accordingly.
Two of the key applications that will receive Ramadan related applications are Hayati – an app for diabetic patients – and Tiffi, the one for pregnant women.
Hayati is an Android and iOS app helping diabetic patients with a personalised and integrated platform to help them manage their sugar levels.

Its key features include glucose tracker, medication tracker, BMI tracker, blood pressure tracker. It allows users to take medication on time and also keep a medication diary with dosage information and reminders. Patients can also manage their appointments, reschedule and cancel them with any DHA healthcare professional using the mobile application.
According to a senior official the update will educate diabetic patients to fast healthier during Ramadan allowing the user to keep track of their condition and prayer times and also comes with a Ramadan related user interface and theme.
"It is not meant for diabetic patients. Even those around them, taking care of the patients can use the app to enable better management of diabetics.
Separately DHA is also enhancing Tifli, the pregnancy application that provides a personalised and integrated platform to expecting parents. The app helps pregnant women with relevant tools and customised information throughout every step from conception to early childhood up to five years.
According to a senior DHA official, these smart applications will help address the lack of awareness in Dubai on pregnancy and diabetes while helping users with their everyday challenges. "The challenges exist due to a lack of knowledge of health best practices, as well as a strain on DHA medical resources.
DHA aims to offer its customers user friendly mobile applications that focus on the users’ needs and utilise the latest technology in the market," the official said.
The initiative is part of the Citizens Smart Application project that aims to deliver a smart world-class healthcare experience that meets and anticipates the needs of the citizens and residents of Dubai.
