DM provides special services for senior citizens

Ensuring the provision of best services to all segments of society, Dubai Municipality has launched certain special services for senior citizens of Dubai.

Khalid Badri, Director, Customer Relations Department, said, "We have launched useful services to serve senior citizens above 60 years old, considering social responsibility towards elderly people and achieving the vision of the civic body to create an excellent city that provides essence of success and comfort of sustainable living."

The initiative is aimed at giving priority to senior citizens in all DM services, giving a 10 per cent discount in leasing facilities of Children’s City, and purchasing compost (up to 50 sacks yearly). Senior citizens can also park without charge in the fish market parking area, even after the auction time.

In addition, Dubai Municipality will provide the service of buying and slaughtering animals and delivering them to their homes on demand.

All elderly citizens will also receive immunisation against Hepatitis, in their homes, with a certification of immunity against epidemic diseases.

Badri added that Dubai Municipality, as a service-oriented organisation, has launched many community and humanitarian initiatives, such as providing wheelchairs, and special consideration for disabled people, financial help to needy workers, support campaigns to collect donations for the victims of natural disasters and refugees in situations of war and unrest.
