DMI rewards suport staff ahead of Accession Day

The publishing division of the Dubai Media Incorporated honoured its support staff and workers as part of celebrations to mark Dubai Ruler His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s Accession Day on January 4, 2013.

About 30 staff were given cash and certificates in appreciation of their services to DMI.

Among those honoured was Waheed Hassan Al Sarah, the son of the late Hassan Al Sarah, who worked as a driver with the ‘Al Bayan’ Arabic newspaper, which is part of DMI. Hassan died recently in a car accident.

Sheikh Mohammed has asked ‘concerned authorities’ to not undertake any special celebrations to mark his Accession Day on January 4, 2013.

“This year, like previous years, I asked the concerned authorities not to make any celebrations for Accession Day on January 4,” Sheikh Mohammed tweeted through his Twitter handle HH Sheikh Mohammed (@HHShkMohd).

Speaking on the occasion, Da'en Shaheen, Director General of DMI's Publishing Sector, said, “The award ceremony was in honour of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. All the support staff was very happy. It provided us an opportunity to show our appreciation for all the commitment and hard work they put forward to enhance the working environment here.”
