Dubai’s Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities (IACAD) has issued a fatwa prohibiting use of others’ Internet WiFi service without their permission.
The department’s fatwa section had received a query from a person, asking about the legality of people using others’ Internet WiFi secretly.
This could reduce Internet speed for the genuine user because of sharing by others.
The fatwa was published on the website of the department under the ‘modern fatwas’ section.
The fatwa said it is not permissible for people to use what belongs to others without payment or without their permission. So, internet should be used only after subscribing for the service.
