Dr. Rashid Alleem appointed to World Water Advisors Council

H.E Dr Rashid Alleem, Chairman of Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority has been appointed as a member in the Council for his efforts in the field of sustainable development and benefit from his expertise in water resource management and development, by Singapore's World Water Advisers Council

Singapore World Water Advisers Council has decided to assign H.E Dr. Rashid Alleem, Chairman of Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (SEWA) for membership in the Council for his efforts in the field of sustainable development and benefit from his expertise in water resource management and the development of a road map to contribute effectively to sustainable global development.

The Council involved with various visitors from international organizations to government bodies, universities and research centers of various aspects of international water policy.

H.E Dr. Rashid Alleem focused on that key policy and management changes that are expected to assure the ideal utilization of accessible water assets and take care of the developing demand. He also added that the World Council of Water Advisers will strengthen and urge governments and associations to execute worldwide research.

To save water from waste as the needs for the global future requires resources that can be managed with high efficiency, this is an issue that is becoming progressively important and crucial in the development of the world’s population.

He also stated the need for all countries to stop the unsustainable exploitation of water resources and to develop integrated water resource management and water efficiency plans.

The council is comprised of 12 members of the world's leading experts and specialists. It is headed by Tan Ji Bo, chairman of the Water Authority of Singapore.
