The torrential rains that pounded the UAE on Tuesday flooded several areas across the country and derailed normal lives of residents. However, the worst hit of the Emirates is Ras Al Khaimah.

With more showers forecast in RAK in the coming days, officials have urged visitors and residents to exercise caution.

Avoid the valleys

Shaam, Ghalila and Al Beeh valleys are almost submerged in water, even as vehicles were seen breaking down on water-filled roads.

Unstable weather is expected to continue in the emirate with an increase in cumulous clouds and strong winds reducing visibility and temperatures alike. The sea will be rough and beach goers are advised not to venture out.

More police patrols

Meanwhile, Colonel Ahmed Al Summ Naqbi , Director of Traffic and Patrol Police, Ras Al Khaimah, said more than 30 officials are constantly patrolling all the roads in the emirate.

Residents in need of help are advised to contact Ras Al Khaimah Police on 999 + 998 + 072356600 + 072356611.

Stick to basics

Col Naqbi urged motorists to abide by traffic rules, clean their windshields, and maintain minimum distance between vehicles and drive slow in order to avoid unwanted mishaps.
