Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (Du), has begun a drive to double your broadband speed for free.
The doubling of the broadband package will continue for a six-month period, following which Du assures it would not charge any penalty for discontinuing with the offer, according to one subscriber who received the call.
“I am using a 8 Mbps broadband connection, but yesterday I got this call from a Du executive who said ‘I was entitled for the free offer of doubling my broadband speed’,” said K Seth, who is a Du home package subscriber for the past four years.
“I was told that I could use service for free for the next six months and thereafter, I would be contacted on whether I would like to continue with the offer for which I would be charged Dh45 extra over my current package.”
Kavita added “I was told that cancelling the upgrade would not cost anything.”
As per the Du website, the talk and surf ‘light’ package (8/2 Mbps download/upload) costs Dh275 per month, while basic (16/4 Mbps download/upload) is priced at Dh320 per month.
