After a day of mostly glorious sunshine on Friday, unstable weather returned to the UAE on Saturday with heavy cloud cover leaving the morning hazy and persistent winds stirring up dust and sand.

The most serious weather alert for the day though was for beach-goers with the National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology advising forecasting rough seas today.

Dubai Police also issued an advisory on Twitter saying: “Do not swim when the red flag is raised or when there are no lifeguards present.”

The forecast also indicated that light rain may accompany the clouds as they increase over the northern and eastern areas.

Temperatures are also forecast to decrease, the NCMS said.
