Dubai Canal update: Another 'Frame' coming up in Dubai?

Is there going to be a giant frame overarching Dubai Canal?

It could be on the RTA's planning board, going by the early design images of Dubai Canal distributed by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).

At a glance, it looks similar to the under-construction Dubai Frame at Zabeel Park.

The canal 'frame' appears on preliminary maps and billboards of Dubai Canal, and seems to be bordering the Sheikh Zayed Road.

Where the canal appears from under Sheikh Zayed Road and heads into Safa Park, the frame forms a gate as if it is the entrance of the new waterway.

No confirmation of this frame was given by any of the involved authorities.

Dubai Frame at Zabeel Park comprises a 150-metre-high, 100-metre-wide structure with a Gallery Museum in the lower rib and visitor facilities in the upper rib, which will be built of glass.

Dubai Canal is a new waterway extending Dubai Creek from its current stop in Business Bay to the Arabian Gulf.

The construction of bridges crossing the canal at Sheikh Zayed Road, Al Wasl Road and Jumeirah Beach Road is in full swing, while the first cuts of the canal have been made in Safa Park.
