Residents of the Al Mamzar area in Dubai and visitors to the Mamzar beach have been rid of a noisy, pesky motorbike rider thanks to the quick response by Dubai Police to complaints.
According to local media reports, the General Directorate of Dubai Traffic seized a Honda motorbike, which was being ridden without a number plate. The driver fled before being detained by the police.
Maj Gen Mohamed Saif Al Zafeen, Director of the General Directorate of Dubai Traffic, was quoted by Arabic daily Al Khaleej as saying that the seized bike had a notorious police record and had been previously flagged down several times for many violations.
He said the police were responding to complaints of a biker riding the a bike at full throttle at odd hours and creating a ruckus.
A traffic team spotted the bike off Al Mamzar beach, opposite the building of Culture and Science symposium and confiscated it because it did not have a number plate.
Al Zafeen added that the bike also matched descriptions that came in from complaints of a biker in Bur Dubai last Thursday and Friday.
3 injured in 4-car collision
The Civil Defence in Ras Al Khaimah, early on Tuesday reported that an Emirati woman and child, and an Asian man, were injured in a collision that took place between four vehicles on Fialah Road.
According to local media reports, RAK Civil Defence operation room received a call about an accident at around 1am.
Ambulances accompanied by police patrols were instantly dispatched to the accident site. All injured were transferred to Saqr Hospital after receiving preliminary aid at the spot.
