A Filipino expatriate has been arrested for suspected rape of a compatriot woman in Dubai.
Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Director of Criminal Investigation at Dubai Police, said the incident happened in Satwa.
Al Mansouri said a 28-year-old Filipina had lodged a complaint at Bur Dubai police station that she had been raped while she was sleeping by a compatriot in the same house. The complainant said the drunk man had walked to her bed, cupped her mouth with his hand and assaulted her sexually.
Police said the arrested suspect, in his thirties, admitted having sex with the complainant but claimed the act was consensual.
