Dubai Holding, the global investment holding company, today formalised a long-term strategic partnership with Dubai Cares to improve children’s access to quality education in underprivileged communities around the world.

This initiative is part of Dubai Holding’s commitment to achieve sustainable results while driving forward the noble cause and make a positive difference in the community.

Through this partnership, Dubai Holding will adopt specific educational programmes designed to help children go to school in economically challenged and underserved communities in Senegal and Nepal. This educational investment is designed to benefit the whole community, with involvement from parents and adults as well.

As part of this partnership, Dubai Holding will also be supporting this noble cause in the UAE through Dubai Cares' Volunteer Emirates initiative. Through these programmes, Dubai Holding will offer local and international volunteering opportunities to employees in schools supported by Dubai Cares.

Employing over 22,000 people across the world, Dubai Holding’s business operations support a range of sectors vital to Dubai’s economic diversification. These include tourism, hospitality, real estate, media, ICT, education, design and trade.

Ahmad Bin Byat, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Dubai Holding, said: “This special initiative, marking our first collaboration with Dubai Cares, has been widely welcomed across the Group. We are very proud to be supporting the humanitarian efforts of our leadership that transcend borders. Aligned with the vision of Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, we believe that education is one of the most effective tools to break the cycle of poverty. With this initiative, we hope to empower communities to end poverty through the elimination of ignorance.”

Bin Byat added: “This is our first long-term international commitment impacting not just individuals but also their families and communities. Our mission is to increase access to quality education through impactful and sustainable opportunities.”

Tariq Al Gurg, Chief Executive Officer, Dubai Cares, commented: “It is our pleasure to join hands with Dubai Holding to ensure that the basic human right to education is ensured in underprivileged communities around the world. Dubai Holding has set an example for corporations in the UAE with their track record of philanthropic giving and involvement in activities that benefit the community. With their support and shared commitment to making a difference in society, Dubai Cares will continue making successful advances in shaping the global education agenda.”
