A European woman who once was a prisoner in Dubai has become a major doll maker in her home country after learning the career in jail in the emirate, which she thanked.

The unnamed woman learned how to make dolls with the help of professionals provided by Dubai jail authorities and decided to set up this business after she was released.

In a letter, she told Dubai prison authorities that she had fulfilled her dream in setting up that business and that she was selling each doll for 100 euros (Dh420).

“She expressed thanks for Dubai’s police for their support, which she said changed the course of her life,” 'Al Bayan' daily said, quoting Brigadier Ali Al Shemali of Dubai police.

“Many inmates send us greetings after they are released. They thanks us for the good treatment and support they receive during their stay in our punitive establishments. Most of them have succeeded in their life and in supporting themselves and their families.”
