Dubai Police on Sunday will install 52 radars to monitor speed and other violations on Dubai roads, reported ‘Al Khaleej’ daily.

This is part of 92 new radars to be installed across the emirate in the next few days.

The new hi-tech devices are equipped to not only to spot speedsters but also to check other irregularities, the report added.

Colonel Saif Mohair Al Mazroui, Director-General, Dubai Traffic, said the devices have been approved by Dubai Police Chief, Major-General Khamis Mattar Al Mazina, and will be installed on Sheikh Zayed Road to replace old ones.

He added new radars will be installed on outer roads along Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road and Emirates Road.

Colonel Al Mazroui said 32 new radars will soon arrive at intersections and to check hard shoulders.

Currently there are eight radars are being prepared by Dubai traffic police officers to spot hard shoulder violations. They will be installed on Al Habab Road, Dubai-Al Ain Road, Mohammed bin Zayed Road and Sheikh Zayed Road.
