More than 300 teachers from 73 private schools in Dubai attended What Works Wellbeing on Monday in a bid to share individual strategies.

Organised by education professionals from Dubai's private schools, the fourth event of the 2013-14 academic series focused on issues relating to both student and teacher well-being.

"Schools are places where teachers should be learning all the time, says JESS at #WWDubai #Wellbeing," read the tweet from Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA).

The day-long event allows decision-makers in the field of education to focus on and share best practices.

Following a keynote speech from Emirati marathon runner Eman Al Madini, schools and partners held workshops on a range of topics including Sahaja Yoga, community development, supporting special needs students and encouraging healthy eating.

“What Works is an event for sharing positive practice in education,” explained Hind Al Mualla, Chief of Engagement at KHDA.

“Through collaboration, rather than competition, we can encourage schools to work together and support each other. This year we have held our first What Works Wellbeing event, to focus on aspects of education outside traditional academia.”
