The labour supply company whose 15 employees died in a major road accident on Saturday in Dubai have asked officials to remove or block a gruesome YouTube video of the accident.

“The video in itself is gruesome and is very disturbing for any audience. We have registered a complaint and have requested officials to either block or get the video removed,” said Pramod P, a spokesperson of the company.

Emirates 24|7 reviewed the video and decided not to publish it or privide a link because of its graphic content.

Nine Indians are among the 15 people who were killed in the road accident on Dubai-Al Ain road early Saturday morning. The remaining workers are from Bangladesh.

The driver of the 30-seater bus has been detained for questioning and according to Dubai Attorney-General Issam Issa Al Humaidan, investigations would be conducted to check if the driver was under the influence of drugs, medications or alcohol, or if he had fallen asleep while driving.

More than 200 workers are employed by the labour supply company that supplies manpower to various worksites in Dubai, Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah.

The bus was on its way to Jebel Ali in Dubai when the accident occurred.

The other employees of the company have resumed work after a two-day mourning. “Many men returned to work yesterday. The remaining have done so today. It is our livelihood,” said one employee.

The repatriation of bodies of the dead Indian workers following Saturday’s road accident could be delayed by another two to three days due to a requirement of an NOC from families, company officials have said.

“We require an NOC from the family members. That is taking time. The dead bodies of the Bangladeshi workers would be repatriated within the next 36 hours,” said Pramod.
