E-renewal of car registration now possible

Abu Dhabi Police has announced that owners can renew registration of their vehicles electronically without going to service centres.

According to Colonel Suhail Al Khaili, head of the vehicle licensing department of Abu Dhabi Police, replacement of lost or damaged vehicle registrations and applications for technical inspection reports of vehicles can also now be done electronically.

The licensing department has called on driver and vehicle owners to take advantage of the new electronic service.

Colonel Barakat Al Kindy, head of systems development at Abu Dhabi Police, urged vehicle owners to register themselves using their identity cards at the e-services portal of the police to avail of these services electronically.

He explained that the site allows members to have access to all data on their vehicles, including fines for traffic rule violations.

He said registration by identity card ensures a high degree of safety.
